Limited edition engraving on paper, 19/100

Gilles Gingras was a Canadian painter, engraver and sculptor. He was born on Magog, Quebec in 1932 and in 1952 received a degree from the Quebec Conservatory of Music. The following year he began his fine art studies at the Canadian Arts Academy. Gingras taught art in Chad and Niger with the Canadian International Development Agency between 1960 and 1967. What characterizes his work is his treatment of light - his images shimmer with the play of light through mist and fog.
