These are knit from a bulky wool/rayon blend that tolerates machine wash/dry on toasty settings. Use them for moderate winter conditions but if you wear thin liners underneath you can use them in temps way below freezing. Since they are knit by hand you can expect a few knots where the different colors of yarn are merged.
